Our strategy to help CEPI raise billions for future pandemic preparedness.
CEPI, an international organization that develops vaccines against epidemic and pandemic threats accessible to all people, was created in 2017 to make sure the world would have the vaccines ready to deal with another Ebola outbreak or any of the other viruses that any moment can become an epidemic in a region or throughout the world. By the time CEPI needed to replenish its funding in 2021, CEPI had been thrust into the fight against COVID-19 and is now seen as the world’s main driver of research and development for new and unknown viruses.
Blossom is developing a strategy to reach CEPI’s fund-raising target of US$3.5 billion.
Country by country, Blossom supports CEPI, building communications and resource mobilization plans, organizing online seminars with political leadership, and advising CEPI on tactics.
In particular, Blossom is working to transform a new, untried idea – Global Public Investment, a financing mechanism that does not rely on development aid, but where all countries, rich or poor, can find incentives to participate and contribute – into a workable plan for CEPI to raise billions for future pandemic preparedness.
Blossom also advised CEPI on its investment case, supporting the organization with strategic advice every step of the way. We created a layout following the campaign guidelines and developing an intuitive and impactful visualization.
